As part of the Public Internal Financial Control (PIFC) initiative, an EU sponsored twinning light project entitled ‘Instituting a Robust PIFC System for the Public Sector in Malta’ was undertaken by IAID. A seminar for the senior management of the public sector on the concept and implementation of PIFC was organized as part of the project. The seminar was held on the 13th May 2008 and was addressed by the Hon Prime Minister Dr Lawrence Gonzi and Dr Godwin Grima, Principal Permanent Secretary. Ms Rita Schembri, Director General IAID, Mr Steve Ecroyd from the UK National Audit Office, Ms Janet Thomas from the UK HM Treasury and Ms Monica Kos from the Polish Ministry of Finance also addressed the seminar.
